The kwara state government is committed to providing necessary support to farmers across the state.
The Development Officer in Ilorin West Local government area, Mr Abdullahi Abdulfatai-Ajia stated this today at a meeting with farmers in Ilorin West held at Ilorin-West local government secretariat.
Mr Abdulfatai-Ajia noted that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq had invested massively on agriculture to ensure food sufficient in the state.
The Development Officer said the aims of the meeting is to identify the real farmers to enjoy the dividends of democracy in order to improve their productivity effectively.
Also speaking, the HOD Agric, Ilorin-West, Prince Oladele Adedayo said the recent distribution of farm inputs across local government areas aims to support farmers to boost agricultural production.
Speaking on behalf of the farmers, Mr Saliu Samuel Oodobe and Abdulkadir Ibrahim described the meeting as the first time in the history of the local government to engage farmers on how to improve on farm products.
They appreciated Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq for the distribution of tractors and other farm inputs to farmers across the state, but appealing for more support to boost food production and availability.
