Nigerian- Canadian Award Winning film maker and diehard supporter of super eagles, Pascal Atuma has called on Nigerian Politicians to emulate the spirit of patriotism and selfless commitment as demonstrated on the field of play by players of the super eagles at the ongoing 34th AFCON in Ivory Coast.
Super Eagles dispatched arc rivals, Bafana Bafana of South Africa by four goals to two via penalty shoot-out on Wednesday evening to book final spot of the Africa biggest football show piece in a tension soaked cracker in Bouake.
Pascal Atuma who has been following the super eagles over a decade, described Wednesday’s semi final clash with Nigeria as craziest game from the blast of the whistle to end, stating that he had followed eagles to Brazil, Russia 2018 and Egypt 2019 and have not witness such an electrifying display from them.
“I think at this point in our nation, Politicians should learn from the Eagles patriotism, selflessness, sacrifice, togetherness and how to serve a nation wholeheartedly, how to love a nation as its being exemplified by our players”
He Urged Nigerian leaders to copy the spirit of selfless service and renewed commitment by genuinely fix persistent hunger in the land and other untold hardship bedeviling the Country.
While congratulating players and officials of Nigeria on their well deserved victory over Bafana Bafana, Atuma implored to remain focus and resolute in their quest to win fourth title to eventually achieve the mantra of let’s do it again.
“I have spoken with Frank Onyeka and told me that the team will not be carried away with the euphoria of South Africa’s semi finals victory, rather they will sustain the spirit of team work untill the ultimate aim is achieved on Sunday.”
Nigeria will clash with the host nation, Ivory Coast on Sunday in Abidjan in a final encounter to climax 2023 AFCON.
