Fagbemi emerges chairman retired permanent secretaries association

A retired Permanent Secretary in Kwara State Civil Service, Barrister Suleiman Ayodele Fagbemi, has been elected as the new Chairman, Association of Retired Kwara State Permanent Secretaries.
Fagbemi emerged the helmsman of the association after polling 56 votes to defeat his main challenger, Mr Ayobola Samuel, who garnered 19 votes.
The election for the new leadership held on Monday at the State Secretariat of the association, GRA, Ilorin.
It was observed that the election took place after the association’s Annual General Meeting with many seasoned but retired bureaucrats in attendance.
With his election, Fagbemi will succeed a retired female Permanent Secretary, Mrs Bosede Ikeoluwa Orunmuyi, who founded the association.
The association was formed in 2017 with Mrs Orunmuyi as its pioneer chairman.
At the keenly contested election, a retired Permanent Secretary, Mrs Kikelomo Amosa, emerged as Vice Chairman while Dr Salihu Ahmed Sebutu was elected Secretary.
While Elder Adesina emerged as Assistant Secretary, Mr Adetokun Adegboyega was elected Financial Secretary with Alhaji Iliyasu Idris as Treasurer.
Alhaji Abubakar Bello is the new Public Relations Officer while Mr Abioye Victor emerged Social Welfare Officer and Alhaji Mustapha Abdulganiyu Mustapha elected as Auditor.
In her remarks, the outgoing Chairman, Mrs Bosede Ikeoluwa Orunmuyi, sought support of government to address some of the challenges facing the association.
She said the association was ready to work and assist the state government to reenergize the state civil service for effective and quality delivery.
