SMEDAN DG seeks collaboration with governors to achieve its goals

The Director General, Small and medium enterprises development Agency of Nigeria, Mr. Olawale Fasanya has appealed to state governments to partner with the Agency in order to optimally discharge its duties across the federation.
Mr. Fasanya stated this during the Agency’s twenty-twenty three Managements Retreat with a theme ” Enhancing Institutional Capacity for Greater Impact on Nigeria MSME Ecoysystem” held in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.
According to the Director General, the Agency has over the past twenty years, excellently executed its goals across board which includes, one local government – one product, business trainings, corporative set ups, and discharge of grants among others.
Mr. Fasanya noted that the impact of the removal of fuel subsidy on businesses in the country called for a Common Facility Centre for SMEs in order to access equipments in a shared manner which will inturn reduce their working capital.
In a remark, National Vice-President, Nigeria Association of Small and Medium Enterprise North Central, Prince Ajesefeni Tajudeen charged the state governments to take up its responsibilities in partnering with relevant agencies such as SMEDAN in improving the economic activities of the state.
A participant who is also the Deputy Director P&C. Mrs. Fawale Olabimpe said the retreat became imperative in order to delibrate on better ways to move the Agency forward and accurately discharge its duties of serving Nigerians.
