Council chair distributes food items to IDPs in Kwara community

Millions of naira worth of food items and relief materials have been distributed to the Internally Displaced Persons who were displaced from their hamlets during the robbery attack that took place in Oke-Ode and its environs last month.
The items which were distributed by Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State include; 600 yards of cloth, Bags of Rice, Bags of Beans , Bags of Cassava Flour “Garri”, Bags of guinea corns, 500 tubers of Yam, Kegs of Palm Oil, and packs of Mats among other valuable materials.
Speaking at the distribution of the items held at the council’s area office in Oke-Ode which was turned to IDP camp, the Transition Implementation Committee Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government Council, who is also Chairman of ALGON in Kwara state, Prince John Jide Asonibare said the relief materials were distributed to the affected people to lessen their suffering and support them during this difficult period.
Prince Jide Asonibare restated the State government’s commitment to the wellbeing and good living standard of the people of the state.
The Council chairman commended Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq for having the interest of Kwarans at heart, while pledging more relieve packages for the indigents in the local government area.
In a remark, a Stalwart of the All Progressives Congress in the local government, Elder Oyin Zubair called for peace and harmony in Oke-Ode, appealing to rural dwellers on the need to always promote peaceful coexistence in their respective communities to ensure growth and even-development.
While appreciating the TIC Chairman, Prince Jide Asonibare for the items donated to them, Serikin Fulani Oke-Ode, Atiku Issa, urged him to assist in propagating the message of unity and peace to the people of the area and other communities to build harmonious relationships in Oke-Ode town
