Gov AbdulRasaq appeals to state govts to support police with right equipment

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has called on state governments in Nigeria to continue to support the Nigeria police with the right equipment to enable the Force address security challenges in the country.
Governor AbdulRazaq made the call today in Ilorin when he received the Inspection General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun at the Government House.
The Governor congratulated IGP Egbetokun as the number one police officer in Nigeria and wished him well in the task of securing the country.
Governor AbdulRazaq also commended the State Commissioner of Police Victor Olaiya for his approach which had led to the arrest and prosecution of some criminal elements for various offences in the state.
In his address, the Inspection General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun said the visit was to thank the governor for the support to the police in Kwara State and promised to partner the government to deliver good dividends of democracy to the good people of Kwara State.
The IGP enjoined Nigerians to share in the vision of the new police administration which includes to emplace professionally competent police force that is service driven, rule of law compliant, citizens friendly and support the agenda of government in its economic recovery plan.
