The Kwara State College of Nursing Sciences, Oke-Ode (KWCONOO), has relocated its staff and students to Ilorin following heightened security challenges in parts of Kwara South and Northern senatorial districts.
The institution announced that academic activities have resumed at its new temporary site, the Institute of Technology (I.O.T) Mini Campus of the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin.
In a statement by the College’s Press Secretary, Abdulhafeez Oyewole, the College expressed appreciation to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for granting approval for the relocation.
The statement said the Provost, Alhaji Olanrewaju AbdulQaudri, personally oversaw the three-day exercise, which began on Monday and was completed by Wednesday.
Addressing staff and students, AbdulQaudri described the move as a necessary response to an emergency situation.
He urged lecturers and non-academic workers to remain committed despite the shift in environment, and encouraged students to adapt positively, stay disciplined, and remain security conscious.
“Your focus should remain on your studies,” the Provost told the students, assuring them of management’s continued support.
He also expressed optimism that peace would soon be restored in Oke-Ode, allowing the College to return to its permanent site.
Academic activities for both Nursing and Midwifery students are now in full swing at the Ilorin campus.
