
Kwara Police rejoice with DIG Egbetokun as he bags PhD in Peace and Security Studies

The Kwara State Police Command has rejoiced and congratulated a one time Commissioner of Police in the state command and presently the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Force Criminal Investigation Department, Force Headquarters, Abuja, DIG Kayode Egbetokun, who has just successfully completed his PhD programme at the Center for Peace and Security Studies, Al-hikma University, Ilorin
In a statement issued by the state Commissioner of Police, CP Paul Odama through the Command’s spokesman, SP Ajayi Okasanmi, the command said it is most gratifying to state that the DIG is well known for his passion for the pursuit of academic excellence.
He added that this owed to the totality of his academic accomplishments since his days as an undergraduate from the prestigious University of Lagos where he obtained Bsc Mathematics, Post-graduate Diploma in Computer Science, Masters of science Degree in Engineering Analysis, PGD Petroleum Economics from Delta State University, Abraka and MBA from Lagos State University, Ojo Lagos and other institutions of higher learning.
According to him, the DIG, has also added another academic feather to the ones mentioned above with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the Center for Peace and Security Studies, Al-hikma University, Ilorin and thereby making history as the first PhD candidate to graduate from the Center.
Dr Egbetokun’s Research Topic was titled ENDSARS PROTEST POLICING STRATEGIES AND COMMUNITY SECURITY IN LAGOS, STATE NIGERIA which he presented and defended brilliantly to the admiration of the Vice Chancellor and other principal officers of the University.
The acceptance of his thesis today by the Panels of External examiners qualified him for the award of PhD in Peace and Security Studies and an authority in Protest Policing.
