Kwara Speaker urges Nigerian Journalists to adhere strictly to professionalism

Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly,Engineer Yakubu Salihu has charged journalists to continue to ensure professionalism in their reportage
Engineer Salihu representing Ilesha-Gwanara Constituency, gave the charge today while receiving a Survenier donated to him by the State House of Assembly Press Corp to congratulate him on his re-election in the just concluded General Elections in the State
Engineer Salihu described media as a strategic for political stability and an interface between the government and the people, while applauding the State House of Assembly Correspondents for positively projecting the image of the State Legislature.
The Speaker assured the citizens of the state of quality Legislations towards improving their welfare and pledged to improve on observed grey areas in the Tenth Assembly when Inaugurated.
Also Speaking, Deputy Speaker, Mr Raphael Adetiba chronicled the journey so far of the Ninth Assembly and praised the Assembly Press Corp for their undiluted dissemination of Information of the Legislature
In his reaction, Vice Chairman, House Committee on Information, Youth Culture and Tourism, Mr Felix Awodiji noted that the success of the Ninth Assembly would be incomplete without decent reportage of its Press Corp and saluted the House Correspondents for their dedication to work
Earlier, Chairman, Kwara State House of Assembly Press Corp, Mr Abdulrazaq Bello of Radio Nigeria Harmony FM, Idofian, applauded the Speaker for not disappointing the youth Constituency as a successful young politician
Mr Bello explained that the token Survenier from House of Assembly Press Corp was to congratulate and appreciate the Speaker for his re-election and fruitful piloting the affairs of the House
In his submission, Kwara State Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Abdul-lateef Lanre Ahmed eulogized the House for ensuring harmonious working relationship between Legislature and Executive in the State.
