KWSG presents cheques to communities in four local govt for projects execution

The Kwara state government on Thursday present cheques worth over twenty-four million naira to communities members of the Community Project Management Committees in Baruten, Kaiama, Ilorin-East and Irepodun local government areas of the state.
Presenting the cheques the State Commissioner for Planning, Budget and Economic Development, Alhaji Aliyu Kora-Sabi to the communities held at the Kwara Community and Social Development Agency office, Ilorin, said the present administration had paid counterpart funds of sixty million naira to various international and donor agencies to utilise the opportunity of making life meaningful for the citizenry.
The State Commissioner appealed to all the benefiting groups to use the fund judiciously and transparently in the implementation of the approved projects, adding that any money misused or misappropriated would be refunded.
In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Planning, Alhaji Yakubu Umar-Jaja thanked the Agency for transparency in selecting the communities and applauded Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq for the projects
Earlier, the state General Manager, Community and Social Development Agency, Engineer Amamat Oluwatoyin-Haruna said the money is the first tranche, which is fifty percent of the cost of the projects in the four communities.
Engineer Oluwatoyin-Haruna appreciated the efforts of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq for increasing the access of the poor people in the state to the basic needs of life
Speaking on behalf of communities, Professor Noah Yusuf who is representative of Okeiya-Ipo community thanked Governor AbdulRasaq and promised to be transparent in their various projects
The groups appreciated the state government under the leadership of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasak and the Agency for the gestures and promised to ensure the completion of the projects for the benefit of all.
Our staff correspondent report that the communities are Tuka in Baruten, Sabo-Geri in Kaiama, Gurumo in Ilorin-East and Okeiya-Ipo in Irepodun local government areas of the state.
The presentation of the cheques was witnessed by communities members of the Community Project Management Committees in Baruten, Kaiama, Ilorin-East and Irepodun local government areas included the State Commissioner for Youth Development, Miss Nafisat Buge.
