LG Polls: Police impose movement restriction from midnight to 6PM

The Kwara State Police Command has announced a restriction on all vehicular movement from midnight until 6 PM tomorrow to ensure security and the smooth conduct of the state’s Local Government elections.
According to a statement from the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, exemptions will be granted to those providing essential services, accredited electoral officials, authorized media personnel, electoral observers, and emergency responders.
The statement also noted that Armed Security Personnel on VIP protection or escort duties are prohibited from accompanying their VIPs to polling stations.
The statement urged residents of the state to comply with the directive, with a warning that anyone found violating the curfew will face legal consequences.
