The Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has hailed the choice of the Chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum and Governor of Kwara State, H.E. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for the prestigious title of Sardauna, Ilorin Emirate.
The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Council of Chiefs, His Royal Highness, Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, announced the appointment of the Governor in recognition of his exemplary leadership and contributions to the development of the state.
In a statement issued on Friday and jointly signed by the Council Chairman, Abdullateef ‘Lanre Ahmed, and Secretary, Mahmood Olayinka Alaya, the NUJ described AbdulRazaq’s pick as a well deserved honour.
It noted that the appointment of the Governor into the covetous honorary traditional title reflects his unwavering commitment to the overall progress and transformation of Kwara State, particularly Ilorin, the capital city.
The NUJ praised Governor AbdulRazaq for his administration’s impactful initiatives including the extensive road projects across the three senatorial districts and the urban renewal projects aimed at modernizing Ilorin and other key towns.
These efforts, the Union noted, are critical in making the state more attractive to investors and improving the quality of life of the residents.
The Union also extended its felicitation to the entire AbdulRazaq dynasty, emphasizing that the exclusive traditional title is not only to honour Governor AbdulRazaq but also places greater responsibility on the family to continue their dedication to the advancement of the Ilorin Emirate and the state at large.
The NUJ, however, prayed for continued divine guidance and wisdom for the Governor as he steers the affairs of the State, urging him to remain steadfast in his mission to elevate the state to new heights.
