Legal Luminary and APC Stalwart, Barrister Debo Aderibigbe has called on the newly elected and sworn in sixteen Local Government Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of Kwara State to make socio-economic development of their local government areas top priority for the people to continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy that is the hallmark of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration and be more impactful as the tier of government closest to the grassroots.
Barrister Aderibigbe on behalf of Barrister Adebayo Reps Project and Kwara Advancement Forum described their victories at polls held on Saturday, 21st September, 2024, as well deserved and a testament of the confidence reposed in them by the teeming electorates, urging them to bring their experiences in diverse field of endeavors to bear in carrying out their assignments during the tenure of office. He also enjoined the one hundred and ninety three Councillors to work assidously with the Chairmen and Vice Chairmen to ensure a rancour-free administration that will bring the rapid development at the third tier of government.
The Legal Luminary congratulated Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the APC Chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, all the leaders, stakeholders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the successful outing at the polls, calling on the support of every Party member and stakeholder to sustain the relationships that the Party has built with the people of the State.
Barrister Aderibigbe applauded the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission, the security agencies, members of the fourth estate of the realm and the electorates for their different roles in ensuring that democracy continues to thrive in the State and for the peaceful conduct of the exercise calling on all role actors to sustain the tempo.
It will be recalled that the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWSIEC) declared the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winners of the Local Government elections in the State.
Announcing the results at KWSIEC headquarters in Ilorin, the Chairman of the Commission, Baba Okanla, said the APC won all sixteen Local Government Area chairmanship positions and secured all one hundred and ninety-three councilorship seats.
The Legal Luminary expressed confidence in the ability of the Chairmen, the Vice-Chairmen and the Councillors to hit the ground running and meet the expectations of the people within the shortest possible time by building on the developmental trajectory that Governor AbdulRazaq’s transformational administration had embarked upon in the Local Government Areas within the State.
The APC Stalwart also welcomed the victory the All Progressives Congress, APC, recorded in Edo State Governorship elections, where Senator Monday Okpebholo of APC emerged as the Governor-Elect, saying it was a pointer to the acceptability of the Party nationwide.
He advised the Edo State Governor- Elect to be up and doing in the discharge of his duties to make life easier for the people of the State by making good his electoral promises upon assumption of office.
Barrister Aderibigbe also felicitated with the First Lady, Her Excellency, Senator Remi Tinubu on her sixty forth birthday, wishing her more successful years on earth in soundness of health and mind with vigour and vitality, greater wisdom at partnering with Mr. President in carrying out the Renewed Hope Agenda to the total emancipation of the citizenry.
He urged Nigerians to continue to pray for the mother of the Nation in this regard.
