Breaking: I remain Speaker of Lagos Assembly until due process is followed– Obasa
By Mahmood Olayinka Alaya
The impeached Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has asserted that he remains the legitimate Speaker of the Assembly based on constitutional provisions.
Obasa criticized the process of his removal, stating that it failed to adhere to constitutional procedures.
Speaking publicly on the matter for the first time on Saturday, Obasa emphasized the importance of following due process, stating that he would only accept his removal if it were conducted in line with constitutional guidelines.
“I am not disturbed; I am not afraid,” Obasa said while addressing the developments at the Assembly.
He further described the allegations of corruption leveled against him by lawmakers during his removal as baseless and “impossible.”
