The All Progressives Congress Executive Council and Stakeholders in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State have directed the party’s chairman in the local government, Alhaji Lateef Kadiri to resign from his position within forty-eight hours or risk being removed.
The decision was contained in a Communique issued and signed by Secretary of the party in the local government, Mr. Olu Ajisafe and the Representative of the party’s stakeholders, Elder Oyin Zubair at the end of the 4th APC Ifelodun local government peace and unity meeting, held at NULGE hall, Share, the headquarters of Ifelodun local government area.
The Party executive members and the stakeholders also passed a vote of no confidence on the embattled chairman.
The communique noted that the problem rocking the party in Ifelodun local government was premised on leadership dysfunctionality, occasioned by incompetency and inefficiency, noting that the chairman of the party, Alhaji Lateef Kadri , was identified with financial recklessness and greed.
It also added that the local government party’s chairman was accused of not holding any meeting of the party since inception of the current executive of the local government and therefore directed that the meeting should henceforth commence without further delay, and must be scheduled to hold quarterly at the party’s local government secretariat, Share.
According to the communique, it was also agreed that there must be a synergy between the wards executive and the local government executive to foster unity of purpose.
At the end of the meeting which was attended by the wards chairmen, youth leaders, women leaders, and other central working committee members of the party as well as some stakeholders, the communique noted that the decisions taken were part of the ongoing process of putting APC Ifelodun in its rightful place to end the crisis that rocked the party before and after the general elections.
